Accommodation/Lodging
The hotels will be 3-4 stars. The accommodation has been chosen to give passengers the best access to the surrounding areas. For those traveling alone there are single occupancy rates available.

Activity Levels
This tour offers a wide range of walking opportunities, which require a reasonable level of fitness, mostly due to possible elevation changes. The level of activity can be suited to and catered for almost all levels of fitness. It is not an activity holiday, just an active holiday.

Baggage Allowance
Individual luggage must be kept to a maximum of one piece of luggage less than 50 pounds or one daypack less than or equal to 40 litres. It is recommended to travel with a small day pack for easy access to camera, sun block, and clothing. We advise our clients to pack as lightly as possible.

Temperature/Weather
Temperatures across the American West vary by season. We recommend our guests bring jackets in the event of changing weather patterns.

ITINERARY

National Parks of Utah Tour – Bryce Canyon, Zion, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef | 6-days, 6-nights from Las Vegas

Pre-tour night (included in tour cost): Experience the vibrant nightlife and elaborate sights of Las Vegas prior to the National Parks of Utah multi-day tour. Take a ride on New York New York’s roller coaster that loops around the hotel’s exterior or savor the eclectic blend of restaurants, bars and entertainment this family-friendly hotel has to offer. Explore the Monte Carlo, a one-of-a-kind megaresort hotel and casino with incredible dining and entertainment, right in the middle of the Strip.

Overnight at New York New York or Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, NV

Day 1: Feel the coolness of the early morning air as we travel east through the spectacular Virgin River Gorge and along the Mormon Trail. After passing through the dramatic woodlands of Fishlake National Forest, we’ll arrive in Moab, UT with a few hours to explore this slick rock playground in the afternoon. Canyonlands National Park is known for its towering mesas, deep canyons and soaring pinnacles brimming with unique natural phenomenon and uncommon wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for pinyon pine jutting out from the canyon walls, and black-tailed jackrabbits, and skittish mule deer known to roam the area. Arches National Park lies just north of Moab, UT and is home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the massive, crimson-colored Delicate Arch.

Day 2: After a local breakfast in Moab, we’ll set out to experience the epic canyons and stunning buttes of Canyonland National Park. Canyonlands is so large that the park is divided into four ‘districts,’ each with their own personality. The Island in the Sky, the Maze, the Needs and the Green and Colorado rivers make up the districts. Take in panoramic views of the flat-topped mesa Island in the Sky or gaze up at Needles, the towering rock pinnacle often seen in photographs of this unique national parks. Perhaps we’ll spot some Native American petroglyphs in Maze Canyon or Horseshoe Canyon. The Green and Colorado rivers carved two large canyons into the Colorado Plateau and now wind through the heart of this national park. For the adventurer, Mesa Arch is not to be missed. The famous pothole arch in Canyonlands National Park was featured as one of the standard desktop backgrounds on Windows 7 in the Landscapes section!

Overnight at Best Western Plus in Moab, UT

Day 3: Today is full of surprises and offers some of the most isolated landscapes in the American West. Newspaper Rock Historic Monument is our first stop where early nomads, established tribes and explorers of the West have left messages, handprints and names carved into the canyon walls. These glyphs date back 2,000 years. In addition to Newspaper Rock, we’ll visit Edge of the Cedars State Park to view artifacts and rediscover the well-preserved ruins and view the largest Anasazi pottery display in the Four Corners region. Next stop is Natural Bridges National Monument for a short walk to the Sipapu Bridge overlook and a scenic picnic lunch you aren’t going to forget. The day ends overlooking Capitol Reef National Park from our hotel, which offers incredible panoramas of this stunning landscape!

Day 4: Today’s tour will travel from Torrey to Bryce Canyon National Park. Utah’s Scenic Highway 12 is one of the most scenic roads in the American West. It crosses over Boulder Mountain and traverses the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The overlook of Creek Falls and the constant change of scenery is truly a sight to behold. The area is full of Wild West history: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid used the area to hide from the law. Sunset today will be experienced at Sunset Point along the Rim Trail of Bryce Canyon National Park. The views are sure to leave the group awe-struck from the natural beauty of the hoodoos and setting sun dancing in unison.

Day 5: After enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio of the cabin-style Bryce Canyon Lodge, the tour will be venturing out to hike among the trails of weaving hoodoos. Then, we journey from Bryce Canyon into Zion – a scenic drive that is not to be missed! Upper Zion National Park provides for an amazing voyage as we pass by Checkerboard Mesa and enter Zion Canyon. Once we’ve passed through the mile-long tunnel, the park opens up to yet more towering cliffs and descends into the Virgin River Valley, which runs through the park. Our full day of touring concludes as we settle in for the night in the national park.

Day 6: We’ll have a full day to further explore Zion’s many offerings. A complimentary shuttle operates in Zion Canyon, allowing our small group to explore at their own pace and interests. Angels Landing, Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock and the Narrows are some of the highlights. You can also enjoy hiking, walking, National Park Ranger activities, or just relaxing by the river and enjoying the stunning views. The park is your oyster today! A beautiful afternoon drive back into the Mojave Desert and on to the bright lights of Las Vegas will complete this stunning tour of Utah’s magnificent national parks.
